Abstract

Home is a primary need that must be fulfilled by humans. Everyone has the right to live a decent and healthy living environment. The development of urbanization in the city of Yogyakarta makes the cheaper demand for housing in the city and gives a lot of influence on the surrounding environment. Flats is a building that serves as a dwelling with a fairly limited land. Flats in the city of Yogyakarta became the choice to form a regular dwelling. The ongoing development keeps the urban spaces solid. The more uncontrolled growth of settlements in the suburbs, so that will experience loss of function and decrease the quality of the environment. The purpose of this building is the Flats (Rusun) into a modern area inhabited by the low income community of Ngentak Sapen village, Yogyakarta by utilizing the social, economic and environmental potential through biofilic architecture approach (Biophilic Architecture).
