dc.description.abstractMotivation has been widely accepted by both teachers and also researchers as a factor that influences to get success in foreign language learning. Many researchers have been conducted studies about motivation. Motivation become an interest topic to discuss because it can be the key success in learning English. In this study, the researcher limits the problem only on English learning motivation. The objective of the study is to map the English learning motivation in Department of English Language Education Islamic University of Indonesia. The population in this research is the students in Department of English Language Education Islamic University of Indonesia especially from batch 2015, 2016, and 2017. The total sample of this research is 63 respondents. This survey research adapts English Learning Motivation Scale (ELMS) questionnaire from Li, Chuang, & Fu (2006). The questionnaire includes six motivational factors such as expectancy-value, instrumental motivation, self-efficacy, an interest in foreign language culture, supereminance, and passive motivation. The result shows that the profile of the students’ English learning motivation in Department of English Language Education, Islamic University of Indonesia is: 3,54 for instrumental motivation, 3,26 for self-efficacy, 3,25 for expectancy-value, 3,23 for passive motivation, 3,11 for supereminance, and 3,10 for an interest in foreign language cultures.en_US
