Employee performance management is a process for establishing a shared workforce understanding about the achievement on organization. It is about aligning the organisational objectives with the employees' agreed measures, skills, competency requirements, development plans and the delivery of results. To enhance the performance of an employee, workers will depend on a. large event of leadership style that is operational within an organizational setting. Motivation is such an important element in improving work productivity, every educational administrator needs to have a firm understanding of how it relates to job satisfaction and reward systems (Pardee, 1990). Motivation concerns about how to maximize the potential and capabilites of the employees to achieve the objective (personal objective or organizational objective). Therefore, the purpose of this research is to identify the influence of Leadership style, specifically Transactional and Transformational Leadership on Employee Performance with Motivation as intervening variable. The research data collected from questionnaires was distributed to 82 employees in Balai Pelestarian Cagar Budaya Jawa Tengah. SPSS Statistics 20 was used to calculate the data collected. In addition, multiple regression analysis used to predict and to estimate the relationship. The Employee performance was measured using the indicator from Dessler (2005). Afterwards, the motivation is measured by using indicator of Alderfer (1972), and the indicator of the Transactional and Transformational Leadership was measured by using Bass (1985). The result showed that there was significant and positive influence of Transactional and Transformational Leadership on motivation. It also showed that there was significant and negative influence of Transactional and Transformational Leadership on employee performance as well as the significant and negative influence of motivation on employee performance.en_US
