dc.description.abstractThis research aimed at figuring out the extent to which job characteristics, perceived organizational support and self-efficacy affect job satisfaction with work engagement serving as an intervening variable. In this research 101 of employees were taken as the respondents. The data were collected using questionnaires, which were then analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The quantitative analysis techniques used in this research were t-test, F-test, multiple regression analysis and path analysis. The results of the research showed that, first, job characteristics and self-efficacy have a significant effect on work engagement, while perceived organizational support does not have any significant effect on work engagement, but together they have a significant effect on work engagement. Second, job characteristics and perceived organizational support have a significant effect on job satisfaction, while self-efficacy does not have any significant effect on job satisfaction, but together they have a significant effect on job satisfaction. Third, work engagement has a significant effect on job satisfaction. Fourth, job characteristics and perceived organizational support have a greater direct effect on job satisfaction, while self-efficacy has a greater indirect effect on job satisfaction through work engagement. The results of this research can be used as a reference for the Center for the Development and Empowerment of Educators and Educational Personnel (PPPPTK) of Art and Culture of Yogyakarta in creating job satisfaction through job characteristics, perceived organizational support, self-efficacy and work engagement. This effort is expected to be able to improve employees’ job satisfaction, and ultimately, support the achievement of organizational goals.id
