    Abstract
    One of the supervisor success factors in guiding theacers is strategy who used in the supervisory. This research aims to determine : 1) Strategy of islamic education supervisor to improve pedagogical competence of junior high school islamic education teachers in purwosari gunungkidul, 2) Pedagogical competence of junior high school islamic education teachers in purwosari gunungkidul The research is a descriptive qualitative research. Research was conducted on entire junior high school in Purwosari and office of Gunungkidul islamic supervisors with a three month study, since January until March 2017. Informans in this research are islamic supervisor that guide islamic education teachers in Purwosari and entire of junior high school islamic education teachers in purwosari. Researcher get the data through interviews, observation and by examining the required documents. Then data analyzed step by step, from data collection, then data condensation, then data display and terminate by data conclusion. The result of this research indicate that first supervisor in monitoring using a collaborative approach. Second supervisor in monitoring using individual technique and group technique. The individual techniques used are class observation and private conversations, while the group technique used is workshop in district MGMP. Third an outline of junior high school islamic education teachers in Purwosari master the seven aspects of the pedagogical competence.
