Representasi Nilai-Nilai Altruisme Pada Film Nasional Karya Gareth Evans. (Studi Analisis SemiotikaThe Raid 1 dan The Raid 2 “Berandal” Karya Gareth Evans)

Abstract

This study aims to explained the representation of altruism values in violence film by director Gareth Evans with using semiotics analysis model Roland Barthes. The researches will discuss about the films by the director from United Kingdom with two pieces of Gareth Evans’s creation icluding The Raid 1 and The Raid 2 “Berandal”. Both films, showing violent scenes that trigger negative comments from the general public. Behind the violent scenes in the film, there is a good message or a hidden value of altruism and indirectly the value of altruism arises through the signs or symbols of the film.Based on the description above, researchers used semiotics as the method to be used during the study. Data collection techniques to be used are observational studies of each scene, movement and wording of both films. The subject of his research is the violent films by Gareth Evans, there are 10 shots that are represented by The Raid 1 and The Raid 2 “Berandal”. Afterwards, for the object to be analyzed is the altruism values that arise in the film by Gareth Evans.From this research, researchers can be conclude that there are five indicators of altruism values that are represented in the film The Raid 1 and The Raid 2 “Berandal” that is: have a sense of affection, enjoys an activity in helping please if done with cooperation, always spending time for the benefit of other,always degrading the sense of ego so that problems that occur do not happen continuously, volunteer to sacrifice for others, have a generous heart, and last always have a sense of responsibility to anyone.
