dc.description.abstract | This study aims to determine how far both placement and assessment of
work have influences towards performance and work motivation which were set
as intervening variables. In this study, 67 employees of PT. Bank BRI Sleman
Branch, Yogyakarta, were selected as the respondents. Data collection was done
by applying a set of questionnaires. Data were analyzed quantitatively. The
quantitative analysis techniques used in this study are t-test, multiple regression
analysis, correlation analysis and path analysis.
The results showed that, first, placement had a positive and significant
influence on work motivation. Second, work appraisal had a positive and
significant influence on work motivation. Third, placement had a positive and
significant influence on performance. Fourth, work appraisal had a positive and
significant influence on performance. Fifth, work motivation had a positive and
significant influence on both work motivation and performance. Sixth, the direct
influence of placement towards performance was higher than the indirect
influence of placement towards performance which was mediated by work
motivation. Seventh, the direct effect of work appraisal on performance was
higher than the indirect effect of work assessment on performance which was
mediated by work motivation. The results of this study can be used as a reference
for PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia Sleman Branch, Yogyakarta, in producing higher
performance, e.g. by conducting appropriate placements, applying good
performance appraisal systems and adopting higher work motivation. Those
efforts are expected to be able to improve employees' performance and ultimately
to be able to encourage the achievement of company goals. | en_US |
