dc.description.abstractThe objective of this study is to examine the positive relationship between emotional intellegence and organizational commitment. The subjects in this study involve permanent employees who have worked at least one year in PT PERTAMINA RU V BALIKPAPAN, consist of 46 men and 4 women. The previous study of Aprilia (2002) is adapted, as this study also use the scale created by Meyer and Allen (1990) to measure the organizational commitment. Meanwhile, this study also adapt the research of Fadli (2012) to measure the emotional intelligence by implementing the scale of Salovey (Goleman, 2002). The data were analyzed by Pearson product moment analysis using SPSS 18 for Windows. The results indicated that there was a significant relatioship between emotionall intelligence and organizational commitment, r coefficoent of 0,618 and p = (p < 0,01)en_US
