Resepsi Komunitas Montase Terhadap Representasi Ras Asia Di Amerika Dalam Film Minari
Abstract
Along with the development of technology, films are developing very rapidly which is
assisted by technology so that it can make it easier for a filmmaker to pour his imagination into
audio-visual form. The purpose of this study was to examine the montase community's reception
of the representation of the Asian race in America in the Minari film. The method in this study uses
qualitative research methods with sample collection through interview techniques with resource
persons at different times. The resource persons obtained were 3 members of the montage
community consisting of 2 resource persons who work as lecturers and also 1 resource person
who is an activist in the film world. The method used in this research is reception analysis method
and uses mass communication audience theory, films and reception analysis. The results obtained
in this study indicate that 2 sources are included in the Dominant Position and the other 1 is
included in the Negotiated Position
