ASA DI ZONA BENCANA (Pembuatan Film Dokumenter tentang “Sekolah Gunung Merapi” dalam Memberdayakan Masyarakat di Kawasan Rawan Bencana)

Abstract

Padukuhan Pangukrejo in Umbulharjo, Sleman is included in the Disaster Prone Area III of Merapi Volcano. The area should not be used for permanent housing for residents, but after the 2010 eruption many residents returned there. The impact is they cannot get adequate facilities and education from the government. Sekolah Gunung Merapi was there to become a community facilitator in meeting needs in education, disaster mitigation and tourism. The basic theory are used in this film is communication empowerment, disaster information literacy and transformative citizenship. The chosen approach method is expository, where the narrative of the subject becomes main information and serves as a guide to the storyline in the film. Expository is chosen because it is able to explain information from the subject to the audience more easily. This documentary tries to recount the mission that is being carried out by the Sekolah Gunung Merapi, specifically in the field of disaster mitigation. Through this film, it is expected to provide insight to the audience about Merapi Volcano Disaster Prone Areas III and efforts made to provide disaster information literacy to the community.
