| dc.description.abstract | With the existence of e- commerce, it can make easier for buyers in
Indonesia to buy foreign products that sell on the e- commerce. To
protect MSMEs and consumer protection, the government issued
Minister of Trade Regulation No. 31 of 2023. With this regulation, the
government prohibits cross-border in e- commerce. In terms of
consumer protection, the existence of this prohibition can make it
difficult for consumers to access imported products and narrow
consumer choices in choosing goods. Therefore, the purpose of this
research is to provide valuable insight into whether the existence of
cross-border prohibition can provide consumer protection and the
potential implications of cross-border prohibitions. With the
formulation of the problem: how the government's efforts in consumer
protection against cross-border prohibitions in e- commerce and the
impact of the existence of cross-border prohibitions in e- commerce on
consumer protection. The research method used is normative juridical,
namely research based on secondary library materials and primary
legal materials. The result of this research are lack of optimization of
the government's supervisory role in e-commerce, where UUPK and
ITE Law do not fully provide security for consumers because there is
still a legal vacuum that can harm consumers, also the Consumer
Protection Law needs to be revised to respond to the needs of the
community, as well as the impact of consumer protection. With the
