    Character Education Representation in an Indonesian English Textbook For 7 Grade Students

    Abstract
    This study aims to describe the representation of Profil Pelajar Pancasila (PPP) in the English textbook for seventh-grade students published by Bumi Aksara, focusing on how character education values are integrated into learning materials. Employing a qualitative research design, the study utilizes visual content analysis as the primary instrument to examine the textbook’s content systematically. The analysis reveals that the textbook incorporates various character values including Faith, fear of God the Almighty, and have Noble Character, Global Diversity, Mutual Cooperation, Independent, Critical Reasoning. This study along with Profil Pelajar Pancasila adapted from The Ministry of Education (2022). The result suggests that while the textbook serves as a valuable resource for character education, there is a pressing need to enhance the visibility of Indonesian cultural elements to better align with the national educational framework. This research contributes to understanding of how English textbook can effectively promote character education and foster a sense of national identity among students in Indonesia.
