The increasing of the violations is one of the influence of modern technology development which is negative. One example of a violation of the modern technology of traffic can occur in one of the road network, that is the intersection that has been using a countdown timer. Violation of the use of red light is not only occur when there is a countdown timer, but also on the intersection without a countdown timer. One of the intersections that has these problems are the intersection at Perempatan Wiyoro. The purpose of this research is to calculate the percentage of violations committed by the driver when a red light in each arm of the existing intersection and there is no countdown timer at the intersection in Perempatan Wiyoro and also comparison of the average percentage of violations between them. Types of research used in this research is descriptive research. Sampling was conducted in a non-probability sampling with a purposive sampling technique. The data used were the primary data obtained by recording the red light violations committed by drivers. The survey was conducted on Saturday, April 28, 2012 morning at 6:00 to 08:00 am and evening at 16:00 to 18:00 pm, on Monday, May 7, 2012 morning at 6:00 to 8:00 am and evening at 16 :00-18: 00 pm. The data obtained were used for the calculation of the percentage of red light violations for each vehicle, each width of approach, the average ratio of total to exist and there was no countdown timer, and the total of the entire arm intersection. The results of the analysis showed that the largest violation vehicles by motorcycle (SM) in the amount of 37% occurred in the arm using a countdown timer while the smallest made by heavy vehicles (KB) and bikes (SP) that is equal to 0% for the arm that did not use the countdown timer. Then for violations each wide approach has no connection with red light violations and violations that occurred not have a pattern or irregular. Then for the large ratio of the average percentage of violations between there and there is no countdown timer, where there is a countdown timer that is equal to 24.45% and there is no countdown timer that is equal to 22.95%. The total average percentage of violations at this intersection is equal to 23.7%en_US
