    Survey on Reading Strategies in Vocation High School

    Abstract
    This research aims to identify reading strategies of vocational high school students. This study was conducted in one of high school at Yogyakarta, The participant were 152 respondent from class eleven of high school. The method used is a quantitative survey by distributing questionnaires to students. This study used motivation reading questionnaire by Mokhtari and Shoerey (2002), contained 3 domains (problem solving (7), global reading (13), support strategy (9) 30 items. The study findings show that the reading strategies that students often use problem solving strategy. Recommendations from this research include the development of reading strategy training programs for teachers and students to increase the effectiveness of reading learning in vocational high schools.
