dc.description.abstractComic is an ideas, either implicit or explicit. Comics can be understood and 'hit' after ‘dialetics’ the relationship between comic with the readers, which eventually evolved into freely interpreted by the reader after the comic book became public readings. Smoking is a remarkable phenomenon in developing countries such as Indonesia. A lifestyle that is very familiar, but unfortunately, that is not a healthy lifestyle. Ads of smoking bans are everywhere, but the government seems reluctant to explicitly regulate this business. A large number of workers, the value of profits soar, making cigarettes as abundant business profit. Now the owners of this industry as the richest man in the world. This research is very important and interesting because it will discuss about the representation of the tobacco industry in the comic book "Large Cigarette Company Profit !!" research use semiotic discourse analysis approach of Roland Barthes. Social, economic and political contexts be considered in this research, such as smoking behavior the people of Indonesia, until the cigarette company's marketing strategy of this product which is emphasizes of taste.en_US
