Validasi Metode Analisis Senyawa Kortikosteroid Topikal Dalam Krim Wajah Dengan Metode Kromatografi Lapis Tipis (KLT) – Densitometri

Based on the decision that issued by BPOM in 2011, topical corticosteroid (TC) was included in one of the ingredients that has been banned for cosmetics use because it may cause a variety of dangerous effects. Nevertheless, in Africa, Asia, and America, TC is misused as a bleaching agent in the form of face cream. The TC that the most widely abused as a bleaching agent is super potent, potent, and moderate. This study aims to identify and quantify the TC in the face cream using thin layer chromatography (TLC)-densitometry. Rf value is the parameter for the identification, and densitometer is used for the quantification. The validation resulted that TLC-densitometry method has good validity and it can be used for identified and quantified the topical corticosteroids in face cream. Specificity test showed that this method can separated the mixture of betamethasone valerate and triamcinolone acetonide well, as showed as its resolution factor was 1,61. R value as the linearity parameter of betamethasone valerate and triamcinolone acetonide was 0,9995 and 0,9993. The %RSD value of betamethasone valerate was 1,89% and triamcinolone acetonide was 2,75%. Accuracy test of betamethasone valerate obtained recovery percentage 97,48% and triamcinolone acetonide 98,30%. Identification and quantification test resulted five samples of face cream were not contain betamethasone valerate and triamcinolone acetonide.
