ADOPSI SISTEM INFORMASI PADA INDUSTRI KREATIF DI YOGYAKARTA

Abstract

Information technology can be defined as a combination of computer and telecommunication technologies with other technologies such as hardware, software, databases, network technology, and other telecommunications equipment. The purpose of this study was to describe the use of information systems by SMEs in running their business processes and what obstacles faced by SMEs in the implementation of information systems. This research is a descriptive qualitative research, with two methods of data collection that are interview and observation. The respondent of this research is the owner / manager / head of SMEs, Creative Industry in Yogyakarta which being in this sectors : arts, crafts, design, and printing. This study found that currently SMEs have implemented information systems for the company. The information system used is still a common system like Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Corel Draw. Besides, there are still many SMEs that have not adopted the information system. This is caused by the complexity and the lack of time allocation to make any adjustments. However, the awareness of SMEs about the importance of information systems for their company has been very good because most of them said that the information system is very important for the sustainability of the company.
