| dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this study is to describe the strategy of RBTV and ADiTV Yogyakarta to entering from analog era to digital era, as well as constraints and bottlenecks.
Paradigm in this study is a constructivist paradigm and qualitative types. The technique of collecting data using interviews three resource persons, documentation, and observation. The method used is in accordance with the case study method proposed by Robert K Yin, in which the method of research to specifically examine a contemporary phenomenon, which is done when the boundaries between phenomenon and context is not clear, using a variety of data sources.
The results showed that: 1) RBTV and ADiTV has implemented a strategy to support the digitization such as: purchase of digital technology; innovation of online television; sharpen of segmentation / positioning because the increasing of competitors; reformatting human resources. 2) However, the conversion is still pending from KOMINFO schedule caused by several factors such as; a) The government opened the tender auction multiplexing only for national private television. This caused the price of rental towers for local television to be expensive. This burdensome local television, and then they ask for digitizing postponed until the government increases for new and better regulation; b) Even more, when the simulcast run, costs will broadcast 2X higher for both analog and digital broadcast transmitters simultaneously; c) There are fears of local television will be other entertainment media such as internet and cinema amid the declining number of television viewers, which resulted in the television industry should be careful in stepping investment cost is quite high.
