Pra Rancangan Pabrik Tetrahydrofuran Dari 1,4 Butanediol Kapasitas Produksi 15.000 Ton/Tahun
Abstract
Pre planning of Tetrahydrofuran factory of gas phase reaction process
with capacities 15.000 ton/year is intended to fulfill requirement of
Tetrahydrofuran which increase progressively, but until now there are no
Tetrahydrofuran factory in Indonesia and this factory is planned to be built in
Cilegon - Banten, West Java.
Tetrahydrofuran was made from 99,5% total conversion of 1,4-Butanediol
as the raw material which reacted in a fixed bed multi tubes reactor. The
operating condition of reactor is 250ºC, 1 atm and Aluminium Oxide (Al2O3)
used as the catalyst.
To produce Tetrahydrofuran with capacity 15.000 ton/year need 18.750
ton/year of 1,4-Butanediol as raw materials and 9.538 ton/year of Aluminium
Oxide as the catalyst.
Tetrahydrofuran factory determined as a low risk factory, because of the
simply process mecanism and without high pressure. Tetrahydrofuran and other
raw materials are unexplosively because has higher stability of storage tank.
Utilitas unit consisted of the irrigation unit, steam, electric power, and
fuel. Beside waste processing unit is buil to support the production process. This
factory is also completed by the laboratory unit which always control the quality
of raw material and the product as according to expected specification and
including the employee safety and health.
A limited liability company with line and staff of the organization chart
was plan in this pre planning. Employees work system based on office hours
consisted of the shifts and non shifts employees. This plan require employees as
much as 140 peoples and Tetrahydrofuran factory was planned to operate 335
days during 1 year.
Economic analysis show that the Return of Invesment (ROI) percent level
before tax is 49.97% and after tax is 24.99%. Pay Out Time (POT) before tax is
1,67 years and after tax is 2,86 years. Break Event Point (BEP) equal to 49.84%,
Shut Down Point (SDP) equal to 36.79% and Discounted Cash Flow Rate
(DCFR) equal to 17.21%. Based on the economic calculation result, the
tetrahydrofuran factory is reasonable enough to be built.
