    Abstract
    Background. Skin color is melanin pigmentation and the environment. Whites can be obtained by the use of whitening creams. Whitening creams on the market and used by consumers in the long term is believed to contain steroids, which have side effects, in case of teleangiektasis. Objective. This study is aimed to determine the effect of skin lightening creams usage on the occurence of teleangiektasis in FK UII student of 2008 Design. This research uses descriptive analytical research method. This research was carried out with a retrospective of cross-sectional approach. The data collected through the completion of the questionnaire by respondents. Then, perform a test of the laboratories of hydroquinone and steroids content in a sample of bleaching creams on the market. Analysis of contingency by the test's correlation with the SPSS17 software for windows. Result. There is no significant effect of the long duration of using whitening cream with teleangiektasis occurrence based on based on a value of p = 0,114 or >0.05 with the low power correlation with the value of r = 0,283. Market cream samples analyzed by thin layer chromatography. All samples were positive to steroids, while displays hydroquinone C and E. Conclusion.long-term use of whitening creams have a weak influence on the occurrence of teleangiektasis keyword. Whitening cream, teleangiektasis, steroid, hydroquinone
