    Abstract
The prevalence of worm infection in generally is still very high in Indonesia, between 40-60%. Garlic or Allium sativum is a medical plant widely used in traditional medicine for the treatment of worm infection. Garlic contains alisin, active subtance that consists of dialil disulfide, dialil trisulfide, propil alil disulfide, dialil mono sulfide, alil polisulfide, and squiterpene, garlic is hoped to have an anthelmintic effect. The aim of this experiment was to know the anthelmintic effect of the water ekstract of garlic (Allium sativum) againts the dog hookworm in vitro and learn the value of LC50, LC90, LT50, and LT90 of water extract of garlic (Allium sativum). This research was an experimental research with post test only control group design. The samples were 350 the dog hookworm, which were divided into 7 groups, that is : 6,25%, 12,5%, 25%, 50%,100% concentrations, pirantel pamoat 0,236% as positive control and NaCl 0,9% solutions as negative control. Each group was 5 replicated. Each petri dish containing 25 ml solutions and 10 worms. The death of worms assessed every hour until the time limit further research. LC50, LC90 and LT50, LT90 of ekstract garlic as anthelmintic was calculated using probit analysis methode. Treatment and control group data were analyzed by the test for differences, using One Way Annova and continued by Post Hoc Test Bonferroni, with significant level p<0,05. The rates of kill the the dog hookworm was 18,2 hour’s (18 hour’s 12 minutes). Water extract of garlic (Allium sativum) has an antihelmintic effect againts the dog hookworm in vitro with different rates of mortality among the five groups water extract and control significantly (p<0,05). LC50 values obtained for 33.98% and 122.26% for LC90. In water extract of garlic 100% concentration has LT50 at 291.87 minutes and 525.86 minutes for LT90. While at concentration of 50%, 25%, 12,5% and 6,25% LT50 and LT90 values greater. Keywords : Antihelmintic, Garlic (Allium sativum), hookworms.
