Remission and Assimilation are prisoners' rights stipulated in the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 12 of 1995 concerning Corrections. Apart from being a right, Remission and Assimilation play an important role in the effort to motivate prisoners to improve themselves in the prison system. The fate of the prisoner is left to himself, who really improves himself, then he will be given the right to remission so that he gets a cut of the sentence he has served, Ag if they do not show seriousness to improve themselves, then they will not get their rights, which means they will stay longer in a correctional institution. Self-improvement efforts to become a better person are in accordance with the objectives of punishment and correctional systems. Human rights play a role in ensuring respect for human dignity, including prisoners as cruel as criminal acts that have ever been in effect. Prisoners must be given equal opportunity and treatment to obtain the right to remission and assimilation, not only as a reward, but also as a stimulant for them to become good persons and ready to return to society gradually, become good human beings who are accepted back in the midst of a family environment and Public. Remission and assimilation are also in line with the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, Body Of Principles For The Protection of Persons Under Any Form Of Detention or Imprisonment, Standard Minimum Rules For The Treatment Of Prisoners as form of protection of the prisoners' human rights to foster prisoners.en_US
