Evaluation of Balanced Scorecard Implementation as a Corporate Performance Measurement (a Case Study at Politeknik Telkom, Bandung)

Abstract

The objective of this research is to evaluate the implementation of Balanced Scorecard in Politeknik Telkom (POLITEL), Bandung. Balanced Scorecard translates an organizations‟ mission and strategy into a comprehensive set of performance measures and provides the framework for strategic measurement for the management. This research analyzes the implementation of Balanced Scorecard in four aspects, as follows: financial aspect, customer aspect, internal business process aspect, and learning & growth aspect. From financial aspect shows that targets of revenue, operating ratio, and investment absorption have been achieved, even though in 2012 the number of revenue, operating ratio, and investment absorption decreased due to declining number of students. From customer aspect shows that employees and industry satisfactions are met the targets, but the students are still yet satisfy with the services and facilities provided by POLITEL. From internal business process shows that the targets have been achieved, this can be shown by the students‟ GPAs are above 2.75 on averages and the total of students who graduate on time. From learning and growth aspect shows that the targets have been achieved, this can be shown by the growth of accreditation status and the total research conducted by lecturers.
