FORMULASI MASKER PEEL OFF EKSTRAK KULIT BUAH NAGA MERAH (Hylocereus monacanthus (Lem.) Britton & Rose) DENGAN HPMC SEBAGAI GELLING AGENT DAN UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN DENGAN METODE DPPH
Abstract
Peel off mask is a facial cosmetic that is applied to the facial skin in a certain time until it dries, till forming a transparent film layer and can be peeled off. Red dragon fruit (Hylocereus monacanthus (Lem.) Britton & Rose) is usually used in fresh fruit or processed into a product, while the pericarp fruit is removed as waste. even though, red dragon fruit pericarp has some useful content for the body, one of which is plentiful of antioxidant that is used as an antidote to free radicals and skin care. The purpose of this research is to know the content of Hydroxy Methyl Propyl Cellulose (HPMC) to the physical quality of peel off mask and also to know antioxidant activity (IC50) of peel off mask red dragon fruit pericarp extract. The method of extraction was used maceration method with 96% ethanol solvent, while antioxidants test was used 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. The optimized data that obtained from the test of viscosity, pH, dispersion and drying time with good estimation results analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) method in Expert Design software. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) test is used to determine the significance of response among variables and to know the model suggested by Design Expert. The peel off mask red dragon fruit pericarp extract has a percent of free radical deterrents or percent rendemen of the concentration 2.000 μg /ml, 4.000 μg/ml, 6.000 μg/ml, 8.000 μg/ml and 10.000 μg/ml is 17.05%, 27, 65%, 46.36%, 59.46% and 71.10%. The result of IC50 value of 1% red dragon fruit pericarp extract on peel off mask is 68,23 μg/ml
