Background : Lung is vital organ that affects fitness, if there is disease interfere respiratory, examples Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease the fourth cause of death in the world and asthma disease occurred 4.7%. The disease interferes lung function by decreased ability of the lungs to accommodate oxygen, as vital capacity of the lung. Vital capacity is the maximum amount of air can spend through maximum inspiration and exhaled as much as possible. The amount of air entering the lungs will affect how strong a person performs an activity affects his fitness. Research Objectives : The purpose of this study was to determine correlation between vital lung capacity with physical fitness level in security of UII Research Method : Research ethics is submitted to Committee of Ethics FK UII with the number 01 / C / Amendment / VI / 2018. This research uses analytic observational research design with cross sectional design. Data is conducted once in the period April-May 2018 and expected to illustrate the relationship between vital capacity of the lungs and fitness levels. Subjects in this study amounted to 49 men from the age of 19-52 years. Pulmonary vital capacity will be measured by spirometry Mir Spirolab III and fitness level measured by harvard step up. Result :Lung vital capacity’s mean value in this study was 3,459 0,814 liters and for the fitness level is 70,5 8,84. Correlative test using Spearman between vital lung capacity and physical fitness level obtained p value of 0,000 indicating the correlation between vital lung capacity and physical fitness level was significant. Spearman correlation of 0,665 shows positive correlation with strong strenght. Conclusion : There is a strong relationship between vital lung capacity and physical fitness levels.en_US
