    PEMBUATAN DAN KARAKTERISASI ZnO/KARBON AKTIF DARI TEMPURUNG KELAPA SAWIT TERAKTIVASI H3PO4 DENGAN METODE HIDROTERMAL UNTUK ADSORPSI FENOL

    Abstract
    Synthesis and characterization of composite ZnO/KA has been done. Composite of ZnO / KA was made from an activated carbon from palm oil shell and ZnO and use activator H3PO4 30% with a hydrothermal process for 150 minutes. characterization of composite was done by Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Surface Area Analyzer (SAA), Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive X-Ray (SEM-EDX) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) and determination of pH, concentration,carbon mass and time in optimum condition. The result of characterization FTIR, composite ZnO/KA identified in functional groups C=C, CO, OH, vibration of ZnO, PO4 vibration, SEM-EDX formed flakes and pores with C element about 35,93%, SAA-BET produced surface area as big as 68,6936 m2/g, pore size formed as 0,0349 Ȧ and pore volume as big as 1,6417 cc/g, XRD analysis resulting in diffraction angle 2θ 31,8540o and 34,4320o indicates the presence of ZnO compound which gives the dominant intensity at 2θ diffraction angle between 31,79-31,91o; 34,45-34,57o; 36,27-36,40o. Maximum adsorption of phenol at pH 2, maximum concentration at 200 ppm, optimum weight of 2 grams and optimum contact time for 60 min. Adsorption is common in the multilayer and monolayer (Isotherm Freundlich and Isoterm Langmuir). Telah dilakukan sintesis dan karakterisasi komposit ZnO/KA. Komposit ZnO/KA dibuat dari bahan karbon aktif tempurung kelapa sawit dan ZnO yang diaktivasi dengan H3PO4 30% dengan proses hidrotermal selama 150 menit. Karakterisasi komposit dilakukan dengan Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR), Surface Area Analyzer (SAA), Scanning Electron Microscopy- Energy Dispersive X-Ray (SEM-EDX) dan X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) serta dilakukan penentuan pH, massa karbon, waktu kontak dan konsentrasi optimum. Hasil karakterisasi FTIR analisis komposit ZnO/KA ditandai dengan adanya gugus fungsi C=C, C-O, O-H, vibrasi ulur ZnO, vibrasi PO4, analisis SEM-EDX dihasilkan plat dan bongkahan serta bentuk pori dengan jumlah unsur C sebesar 35,93%, SAA-BET dihasilkan luas permukaan sebesar 68,6936 m2/g, ukuran pori yang terbentuk sebesar 1,6417 Ȧ dan volume pori sebesar 0,0349 cc/g, analisis XRD dihasilkan sudut difraksi 2θ 31,854o dan 34,4320 menunjukkan adanya senyawa ZnO yang memberikan intensitas yang dominan pada sudut difraksi 2θ diantara 31,79 - 31,91o ; 34,45 - 34,57o ; 36,27 - 36,40o. Daya adsorpsi maksimum fenol pada pH 2, konsentrasi maksimum pada 200 ppm, berat optimum sebanyak 2 gram serta waktu kontak optimum selama 60 menit. Adsorpsi dapat terjadi pada kedua lapisan yaitu multilayer dan monolayer (Isoterm Freundlich dan Isoterm Langmuir).
