dc.description.abstract | This study aims to describe the online reading strategies employed by the students’ in Islamic University of Indoneisa in using strategies reading online. This research refers mainly to online reading strategies categories by Mokhtari and Sheorey (2005) adapted from Poole (2010), which are global reading strategies, problem-solving strategies, and support strategies. The number of respondents that exist in this research is 300 students, taken from 23.000 total of student population from Islamic University of Indonesia. There are five majors in the Islamic University of Indonesia which involve English Education Department, Communication Science Department, Industrial Engineering Department, Law Department, and Medical Department. The survey results were obtained from a sample of students in online reading strategies that has an average range (mean = 3.73). The sample of students in the category of global reading strategies get the highest score (Mean = 4.19, SD = 0.77), followed by problem solving strategies (Mean = 4.03, SD = 0.85) and the lowest is support strategies (Mean = 2.86, SD = 1.18). | en_US |
