Hubungan Antara Kontrol Diri dan Penyesuaian Diri Pada Santri Baru Smp plus Pesantren
Abstract
The purpose of this research is to determine empirically the correlation
between self-control and self-adjustment of new students on an Islamic boarding
middle high school X in Tasikmalaya. The hypothesis proposed is that there exists
a significantly positive correlation between self-control and self-adjustment of
new students on an Islamic boarding middle high school X in Tasikmalaya. The
subjects of this research is 96 grade VII new students, 48,96% male and 51,04%
female. This research used the modified self adjustment scale from Fascaly (2015)
based on aspects of Runyon and Haber (1984) and a self-control scale using The
Brief Self-Control Scale developed by Tangney, Baumeister, dan Boone (2004).
The data analysis method used in this research is the Pearson product moment.
The results of analysis howed a correlation of r = 0,630 and p = 0,000 (p<0,01),
meaning a highly significant positive correlation between self-control and self-
adjustment of new students on an Islamic boarding middle high school X in
Tasikmalaya. This results determined that the hypothesis proposed is accepted.
