| dc.description.abstract | Phthalic anhydride merupakan senyawa organik berbentuk serpihan yang mempunyai peranan penting di industri, khususnya industri pembuatan plasticizer, alkid resin (cat minyak) dan unsaturated polyester resin. Untuk memenuhi kebutuhan di dalam negeri, maka dirancang pabrik phthalic anhydride dengan kapasitas 24.000 ton/tahun. Pabrik ini direncanakan akan dibangun di kawasan industri Cilegon, tepatnya di Krakatau Industrial Estate Cilegon, Banten. Pabrik ini dibangun di atas tanah dengan luas 12.662 m2. Pembuatan phthalic anhydride terdiri atas 5 tahap. Tahap pertama adalah pengolahan bahan berupa o-xylene dan udara. Bahan baku dipanaskan sampai suhu 350oC dan tekanan 6 atm sebelum masuk ke dalam reaktor. Tahap kedua adalah tahap oksidasi yang berlangsung dalam reaktor fixed bed multitube dengan bantuan katalis Rh-Si. Tahap ketiga adalah pemisahan gas dan cairan di dalam flash drum. Tahap keempat adalah pemurnian hasil dengan menara destilasi yang bertujuan memisahkan phthalic anhydride dari komponen lain. Tahap terakhir adalah pemadatan produk menggunakan flaker. Produk flake phthalic anhydride akan disimpan dalam silo sebelum di packing. Produk yang dihasilkan adalah phthalic anhydride dengan kemurnian 99,6%. Pabrik direncanakan akan beroperasi selama 330 hari dengan jumlah karyawan sebanyak 144 orang. Kebutuhan utilitas : air sebanyak 37.437,4493 kg/ton produk, udara tekan sebanyak 70,224 m3/jam, steam sebanyak 44.127,7884 kg/ton produk, listrik 176,3746 Hp dan bahan bakar yang digunakan untuk boiler sebesar 5239,3676 kg/jam. Berdasarkan analisa kelayakan diperoleh Break Event Point (BEP) 54,4% (syarat BEP 40-60%) , Shut Down Point (SDP) 22,34 % , Discounted Cash Flow Rate 19,214% , Return on Investment sebelum pajak (ROIb) sebesar 15,71% dan Return on Investment sesudah pajak (ROIa) sebesar 13,67% , Pay Out Time sebelum pajak (POTb) sebesar 4,21 tahun dan Pay Out Time sesudah pajak (POTa) sebesar 4,61 tahun.

The plant is planned to be built in the industrial area of Cilegon, precisely in Krakatau Industrial Estate Cilegon, Banten. The plant is built on land with an area of 12,662 m2. The making of phthalic anhydride consists of 5 steps. The first step is the processing of materials such as o-xylene and air. The raw material is heated to 350 ° C and 6 atm pressure before entering the reactor. The second step is the oxidation stage that takes place in a multitube fixed bed reactor with the help of a catalyst Rh-Si. The third step is the separation of gas and liquid in the flash drum. The fourth step is purification of the result with a distillation tower aimed at separating phthalic anhydride from other components. The last step is the product compaction using flaker. Flake phthalic anhydride products will be stored in silos before packing. The resulting product is phthalic anhydride with 99.6% purity. The plant is planned to be operational for 330 days with a total of 144 employees.
