    Abstract
The design of this resort design in Gili Meno is based on efforts to address the decline in tourism in the region caused by the 2018 earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic by integrating sustainability, cultural preservation, and economic revitalization. The design applies sustainability and neo-vernacular concepts, utilizing marine conservation initiatives, local community engagement, and ecotourism attractions such as coral reef and turtle conservation to enhance environmental and social sustainability. The Neo-Vernacular architectural approach harmonizes traditional Lombok culture, local materials, and modern design elements, creating a unique and authentic destination that supports local businesses and provides employment opportunities. The design emphasizes cost efficiency, inclusive public spaces, using local building materials, sustainable construction techniques, and. However, there are several challenges that arise in terms of material availability, sustainability, structural durability, and compliance with modern building standards. In addition, integrating advanced smart building technologies and energy-saving innovations while maintaining traditional aesthetics requires an adaptive and context-sensitive approach. A balance between cultural identity, sustainability and contemporary hospitality trends is essential to ensure long-term economic viability and competitiveness. The design aims to build a quality, environmentally responsible and economically resilient resort, positioning Gili Meno as a premier sustainable tourism destination that boosts the local economy, supports cultural preservation and strengthens the appeal of ecotourism.
