Analysis of Factors Affecting Unemployment in Central Kalimantan

Abstract

In general, unemployment is caused by an imperfect labor market in a country. Unemployment is a phenomenon that occurs in all countries, including Indonesia. The increase in the workforce that is not comparable to the availability of jobs results in some workers not getting jobs. In general, the open unemployment rate (TPT) in Kalimantan tends to fluctuate, but in recent years it has decreased. East Kalimantan, for example, previously recorded a TPT of 5.14% in August 2024, down from the previous year. Central Kalimantan also showed a TPT of 3.67% in February 2024, also down from the previous year. North Kalimantan had a TPT of 4.01% in February 2024, also down from the previous year. This study aims to identify the effect of education level, UMR, GDP Deflator, economic growth, and life expectancy on the unemployment rate in Central Kalimantan Province partially and simultaneously. Quantitative research is used as the main design of researchers with panel data types and combining secondary data. Based on the results of education level, minimum wage level, GDP deflator, economic growth, and life expectancy. Partially influential.
