    PENGOLAHAN LIMBAH CAIR BATIK DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE DISTILASI

    Abstract
    The research of batik liquid waste treatment has been done by using distillation method. The process of distillation was carried out for 4 hours and the first drop was obtained at the 23 minutes after the process begun. The result of this process was solid and liquid wastes (distillate). The distillate was then allowed to stand at room temperature for the various of time in order to observe the concentration of COD and NH3 analyzed by UV-Vis spectrophotometer and pH test. The solids were analyzed using FT-IR spectrophotometer. The results of COD, NH3 and pH analysis in batik liquid waste after treatment were 83.67 mg/L; 4.65 mg/L and 6.36 respetively. Based on FT-IR analysis, color of solid result from distillation of batik liquid waste might be one of the dyes used was naphthol blue black dye. Telah dilakukan penelitian pengaruh variasi waktu pendiaman distilat pada pengolahan limbah batik dengan metode distilasi. Proses distilasi dilakukan selama 4 jam dan diperoleh di 23 menit tetesan pertama selama proses berlangsung. Produk yang didapatkan berupa padatan dan cairan (distilat). Pada penelitian ini dilakukan variasi waktu pendiaman distilat untuk mengetahui konsentrasi COD dan NH3 yang dianalisis menggunakan Spektrofotometer UV-Vis, dan uji pH. Padatan sisa distilasi dianalisis menggunakan FTIR. Hasil analisis konsentrasi COD, NH3 dan pH pada limbah cair batik sesudah diolah masing-masing adalah 83,67 mg/L; 4,65 mg/L dan 6,36. Hasil analisis berdasarkan spektrum FTIR dan warna padatan hasil dari distilasi limbah cair batik kemungkinan salah satu zat warna yang digunakan adalah zat warna naftol blue black.
