    Abstract
    In nural society life in Indonesia, bamboo holds an important role. Bamboo is known by the society to have good properties, such as : strong culms, straight, even, hard, easy-to-split, easy-to-shape and also easy-to-transport. Other than that, bamboo is also relatively cheap compared to the other structural material because bamboo is easy to the found around rural environment. Bamboo has become a multifunction plant for society. Such condition encourage the writer to create an adjustable system that is used to rotate bamboo automatically on a bamboo splitter machine. It has a simple form and easy to operate which makes is very suitable for low scale industry. This machine use an automated system where the electrical components is assembled to drive a DC motor which is connected to a mechanical device on the chuck to rotate the bamboo. The result shows that the average time of bamboo processing for each section of bamboo splitting is 0,8 s where for every processing of one bamboo is 12 minutes with average number of splitted-bamboo is 7, 8, and 10 splittedbamboo. For an hour operation of the machine, operator is able to procces 5 bamboos, which is 35 – 50 splitted-bamboo in total with the size of 30 mm.
