    Abstract
The proliferation of online loans in Indonesia has led to increased consumptive behavior and financial instability among users, necessitating effective consumer protection mechanisms. This study aims to see consumer protection efforts against the consumptive behavior of online loan customers in dealing with various violations committed by the company by referring to policies/regulations regarding consumer protection and identifying consumer protection regulations. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected from primary sources through in- depth interviews with online loan users, the Assistance Team for the Draft Law on Personal Data Protection, and the Draft Law on Electronic Information and Transactions, and secondary sources were obtained through desk research document studies, including official documents, laws, agency regulations, regulations, reports, and scientific articles. The data analysis technique used was the interactive model by Miles and Huberman, which consists of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results show significant consumer risks in online loans, such as high interest rates, non- transparent fees, aggressive collection practices, and privacy violations. Although there are regulations like the Indonesia Financial Services Authority Regulation and the Consumer Protection Law, enforcement is still weak, so many consumers are still harmed. This research underscores the need for a comprehensive regulatory framework and improved financial literacy to protect consumers in the online lending sector.
