dc.description.abstractLegal awareness is an understanding of the principles, rules, and legal obligations that apply in a country or region. Legal awareness includes an understanding of legal rights and obligations, legal procedures, and legal norms governing individual actions and their consequences. The method used in this research is empirical juridical research. This research will examine the perpetrator's reasons for remaining to pursue getting married and defying the laws provided by their respective religions and in the country for interreligious marriage. This behavior contradicts the Marriage Law which states that it is not permissible for an Indonesian citizen to have an interreligious marriage stated in Article 2 paragraph (1) Law Number 1 Year 1974 About Marriage which stated that marriage is legitimate if the parties concerned is have similar religion and beliefs. Therefore, that circumstance is an absence of legal awareness on the behavior of the ignorance and disobeying the law must be questioned about interreligious marriages based on Indonesian law and respective religious law.en_US
