dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this study is to determine the connection between teacher support and student engagement in high school student. The population of this study are high school students of UII Yogyakarta Senior High School and Ngaglik 1 State Senior High School with 221 students (male and female). Hypothesis in this research which is there a positive relationship between teacher support and student engagement in high school students to test the research's hypothesis, the researcher collected data using student engagement's scale from Sa'diyah and Qudsyi (2006) which was adapted from the scale compiled by Fredricks et al. (2004) and the teacher support scale adapted from the scale compiled by Chen (2005). The results showed there is a relationship between teacher support and student engagement in high school students. Correlation analysis showed coefficient value r = 0.339 with significance p = 0,000 (p <0,05). This shows that there is a significant relationship between teacher support and student engagement. The relationship has a positive direction, which means the higher the score of teacher support, the higher the student engagement level.en_US
