Identifikasi Timbulan dan Komposisi Sampah Warung Burjo di Sekitar Kampus UII Terpadu Sleman Yogyakarta
Abstract
Waste composition in Indonesia is dominated by organic waste which is obtained
from food. One of the biggest waste producer is a restaurant. Organic waste
management has gained special attention from various countries in the world.
Indonesia still use the landfilling method to manage the organic waste. This study
was done in the Burjo around UII campus Sleman Yogyakarta using waste volume
and composition method as a primery data and secondary data that aims to analize
and study the possibility of food waste management which is resulted. The samples
devided by 3 burjo samples categories (Large Burjo, Medium Burjo and Small
Burjo) which conducted from November – Desember 2016. Based of this study,
obtained the dominant waste generated burjo is organic waste (food, vegetables,
and egg shells), is 82.87%, and the plastic waste is 17.3%. Recommended treatment
include the manufacture of crude oil from plastic waste, compost and feed to
animals.
