Evaluation of Pavement Condition Based on Pci and Rci Value on Km 11 - Km 12,5 Magelang Road, Magelang District
Abstract
The research heads for knowing the quality of pavement on km 11 – km 12,5 Magelang
Road, Magelang District at present based on Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and Road
Condition Index (RCI) value, and then done by the handling programme according to PU :
13/PRT/M/2011.
Measuring procedure at field for PCI value is using gauge to find out the width of
detriment and grouping detriment level, then it’s being analyzed by FAA standard (1987). The IRI
value is obtained by testing roughometer. The RCI value is obtained based on correlation result by
IRI value that being analyzed by 3 equation methods such as Sukirman (1999), Paterson (1986),
and Al Omari (1994). Based on the estimation of International Roughness Index (IRI) and then it’s
done by the analysis to determine the condition, expediency, ant the needed kind of roadwork
according to PU : 13/PRT/M/2011.
Result shows that PCI value on Magelang Road is fail-bad at 3,5%, medium at 26,5%, and
good-very good at 70% and dominated by kind of detriment like patching with the average of
density 10,38% and 6,05% on the contrary. The IRI value on direction of Yogyakarta-Magelang is
dominated by good condition with percentage of 63,33% rating 4, meanwhile on direction of
Magelang-Yogyakarta is dominated by good condition with percentage of 96,67% rating 4. The
RCI value with Al Omari equation model (1994) on the direction of Yogyakarta-Magelang is
dominated by medium condition with percentage of 40%, while on direction of MagelangYogyakarta is dominated by medium condition with percentage of 93,33%. Programme of road
condition for two directions by analysis of PU : 13/PRT/M/2011 is need to do maintenance
regularly/periodic.
