These days, the construction of high-rise buildings continues to be carried out massively which in the process of construction involves a lot of heavy equipment, especially crane. Crane is one of the essentials machineries in the construction of high-rise buildings because it plays a prominent role due to importance in lifting and transporting material. There are many types of cranes that can be used according to conditions in the field, one of them is tower crane. There are many consequences that will occur in tower crane activities. Minor to death and property damage are the consequences of tower crane work accidents. Therefore, this research conduct to identify potential hazards in lifting and transporting activities using freestanding tower crane and determine actions to be taken to control potential hazard. This research using the Construction Safety Analysis (CSA) method to assess occupational risk in tower crane activities. Each sequence of tower crane work from installation of tower crane, operation of tower crane, and demolition of tower crane. The results of this research show that there are 28 types of hazards that can occur in the tower crane workplace. From 28 types of hazards can be classified into 4 types of accidents: Technician and workers loss concentration, slipped, and fall from heights; technician and worker trapped, struck down, and grazed; equipment fell down and damaged; and materials are fell down, broken, or spilled. The hazard control that can be carried out are the substitution method, engineering control, administration, and using PPE.en_US
