dc.description.abstractThis study analyzes the role of the European Union as a mediator in resolving disputes between Russia and Ukraine. The conflict between the two countries has created regional tensions that affect political stability and security in Europe. In dealing with this complex situation, the European Union is trying to function as a mediator with the aim of reducing tensions and encouraging constructive dialogue between the two warring parties. This study aims to identify and analyze the role of European Union law as a mediator in the context of this dispute. A legal approach that includes an analysis of agreements and legal instruments involving the European Union as a mediator in efforts to reach a peaceful settlement. This study also reviews the legal mechanisms used by the European Union in facilitating dialogue and peace between Russia and Ukraine. This study uses a qualitative normative method, namely the method of collecting data through books, journals and online news related to the subject matter of this research. The results of the analysis show that the European Union’s role as a mediator in the Russia-Ukraine dispute involves many legal aspects, including authority, the relevant legal framework, and existing legal commitments. In this context, the European Union must operate with due observance of its limitations and legal responsibilities as a neutral and independent mediator.en_US
