The important component in the building is the wall. Lightweight brick is an alternative material commonly used to replace red brick as a wall material. The use of lightweight bricks is considered more efficient and environmentally friendly because it does not require the excavation of clay and firing furnaces. In order to reduce current environmental issues, the use of waste as a construction material becomes an ideal solution to be applied. This experiment was conducted to determine the effect of using sawdust waste as a partial replacement for sand in the production of environmentally friendly Cellular Lightweight Concrete bricks. To achieve good bonding in the mixture of waste-based materials, the addition of quick lime (CaO) was used as a partial replacement for cement, which is considered to strengthen the mixture bonding in concrete. In this experiment, variations of sawdust mixture used were 2%, 4%, 6%, 8%, and 10%. The addition of quick lime used was 5% in each sawdust mixture variation. Tests conducted included bulk density and water absorption with test specimens measuring 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and compressive strength with test specimens measuring 10cm x 10cm x 10cm referring to SNI 8640- 2018. The use of sawdust in the mixture has an effect on decreasing the compressive strength of lightweight bricks as the percentage of sawdust used increases. However, the addition of 5% quick lime can increase compressive strength of lightweight bricks with sawdust mixture by 17,7% average.en_US
