Abstract
Production of Acetic anhydryde has good prospects for development, when
viewed from the potential of raw materials and industrial users, but until now this
sector has not developed optimally.Seeing the market prospects and development
of acetic anhydride consumption in Indonesia for various industrial
sectors,especially the pharmacy industry continues to increase each year,it is
necessary to study the market to see the prospect of the establishment of a new
plant in the form of pre-plant design.
The factory is planned to set up in Bawen,Semarang, Central Java,with
a production capacity of 10,000 tons per year.The establishment started in early
2021 and will be operational in early 2022.The process used in acetic anhydride
plant by reaction of ketene that prepared by thermal cracking of acetone with
acetic acid in the isothermal packed bed reactor at the temperature 80°C and
pressure 1 atm.
The company was incorporated Limited Liability Company (PT) where the
organizational structure used is a line and staff. The company is led by a manager
with a number of employees 156 people.
From the results of the economic analysis, the result construction and
installation of the plant is done for one year so that the plant can be operational
starting in 2022. Profit before tax of Rp 57.927.531.287,28 / year, and a profit
after tax 22% of Rp 45.183.474.404,08 / year. Percentage ROI before taxes by
26% and the ROI after tax of 20%. Requirement ROI before tax for the chemical
plant with a low risk of age is 11% (Aries & Newton, 1955). POT before tax for
2,78 years and 3.31 POT after tax during the year. Requirement POT before tax
for low-risk chemical plants maximum is 5 year (Aries & Newton, 1955). Break
Event Point (BEP) at 51,20%, and Shut Down Point (SDP) at 26,74%. BEP for
chemical plants is generally 40-60%.
From the results of economic analysis and if supported with Indonesia's
economy stable,then the acetic anhydride plant with a capacity of 10.000 tons per
annum feasible was established.
