Formulasi Dan Evaluasi Tablet Furosemid Menggunakan Amilum Umbi Talas Dan Hpmc Termodifikasi Sebagai Bahan Pengisi (Filler) Dan Pengikat (Binder)
Abstract
The starch of taro tuber (Colocasia esculenta) had the potential to be developed into drug additives but its use was limited. Therefore, taro starch modified by a combination process of partial pregelatination and co-process methods for use as a filler in the formulation of furosemide tablets prepared by direct compression method. This study aims to formulate and evaluate furosemide tablets with modified amylum as a filler and binder. Taro starch obtained through the extraction process, then combined with HPMC with partial pregelatination and co-process method. Variation of the use of starch divided into 3, namely FI, FII adn FIII. The evaluation includes as evaluation of flow properties of the granules, the diversity of tablet weight, tablet hardness test, tablet friability test, tablet disintegration time test, determination of furosemid concentration and dissolution test. Data analysis was performed with the results of theoretical approaches between the evaluation result and literature to observe the result of the modification formulation. The results showed that FII with modified starch composition : avicel PH-102 (1:1) producing a good tablet physical properties. Evaluation of tablet from FI, FII and FIII showed good physical properties, but not in the disintegration test of FI, because FI with starch fillers were not destroyed within the prescribed time, only FII and FIII were eligible for crushed time, less than 15 minute. The average of percentage Ffurosemid in FI is 36,657%, FII 37,942% and FIII 46,933%. The average of percent dissolution for FI is 68,188 ± 11,592; FII 6-,759 ± 15,986; and FIII 77,553 ± 10,511. Physical properties of the test can be concluded that the FII was optimal formula of the three formulations.
