Concrete is a construction material that is more widely used than other materials. The construction develop dynamically, in other side the resources are rare and cause construction industry to make innovations in the manufacture of concrete. One of the solutions by utilizing iron sand and silica sand as raw material for concrete. This study aimed to determine the effect of iron sand and silica sand to the permeability coefficient and determine the optimum rate for the permeability of concrete. Finer sands are expected to fill the pores contained in the concrete so it can provide a low permeability values. This research uses experimental methods in the laboratory. Permeability test object consist of 24 pieces cylinder withsample size ø 150 mm and a height of 200 mm. Rate of silica sand and iron sand are 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, 20% and 25% fromweight of normal sand. Each variation consists of 2 specimen. Permeability of concrete were tested at day 28th. The effect of adding iron sand in the concrete mix to permeability analysis resulta formula k = 0.0005 (FA) 2 to 0.0418 (FA) + 0.9888. While the effect of the addition of silica sand in the concrete mix to permeability analysis result aformula k = 0.0003 (FA) 2 to .029 (FA) + 0.9729. The composition of concrete mix with the most optimal iron sand is 41.8%. While the composition of the optimal concrete mixture on silica sand is 48.33%.
