    Abstract
The aim of this research was to find out empirically about the role of fear of missing out as a mediator in the relationship between social media intensity and life satisfaction. This study uses a quantitative approach involving research subjects of 323 male and female social media users aged 18-25 years. This study uses three scales, namely 1) Satisfaction with Life Scale belonging to Diener, et al (1985); 2) Fear of Missing Out was measured using the fear of missing out scale belonging to Przybylski, et al (2013); 3) Social Network Activity Intensity Scale developed by Li, et al (2016). Data analysis was performed using mediation analysis through PROCESS version 4.0 for SPSS. The results of this study are that there is an indirect role or partial mediation of the fear of missing out as mediator of the relationship between social media intensity and life satisfaction with an LLCI value of -0.1224 and an ULCI value of -0.0370 and an effect value of 0.0761.
