Peningkatan Kinerja Guru dalam Pencapaian Prestasi Siswa pada Mata Pelajaran Akidah Akhlak di Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Yappi Baleharjo Wonosari Gunungkidul
Abstract
The research discussed two problems: first, how to improve teachers’ performance in facilitating student achievement in Islamic Education subject in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic elementary school) YAPPI Baleharjo, Wonosari, Gunungkidul, and second, the contribution of teachers’ performance to the student achievement in Islamic Education subject in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (Islamic elementary school) YAPPI Baleharjo, Wonosari, Gunungkidul.
The research was a qualitative study using descriptive qualitative approach in an attempt to describe, note, analyze, and interpret the ongoing conditions; in other words, this study was aimed to gather information about existing situations. The research objects were the headmaster and Islamic Education teachers in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah YAPPI Baleharjo. The data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentations. After conducting data reduction, display, and verification, the research was concluded in the form of report containing the answers to the aforementioned problems.
The result showed that the effort to improve teachers’ performance in facilitating student achievement in Islamic Education subject in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah YAPPI Baleharjo, Wonosari, Gunungkidul included the improvement of human resource quality by conducting courses, seminars, and trainings as well as continuing teachers’ study. In addition, coaching programs from related offices and from the headmaster were also programmed. The improvement of teachers’ competence was obtained by sending teachers to undergraduate degree program, facilitating teachers’ certification program, and fulfilling teaching-learning facilities. Meanwhile, the contribution of teachers’ performance in student achievement in Islamic Education subject in Madrasah Ibtidaiyah YAPPI Baleharjo, Wonosari, Gunungkidul was in planning, implementing, and evaluating the activities to improve student achievement in Islamic Education subject.
This research was expected to contribute to the development of science and to provide positive feedback for schools or Islamic schools, for private institutions, for government institutions as well as for the community.
