dc.description.abstractThis study attempted to search a positive correlation between interpersonal communication skills with the adjustment in the boarding school students. The hypothesis tested was based on the assumption that higher interpersonal communication skills in students was correlated with higher adjustment itself. Conversely, lower interpersonal communication skills was correlated with lower adjustment itself. The subjects of the research are male and female students of junior high school in Modern Islamic Boarding School Assalaam. Their ages range from 11 to 16 years and totaling 113 subjects. Data were collected by two scales of research, interpersonal communication skills scale which is based on a modification of the scale's Candrawati (2010) which refers to aspects interpersonal communication skills by DeVito (1997) and the scale of adjustment based on aspects by Runyon and Haber (1984). The collected data were processes by product moment analysis. The results showed that: there was positive significant relationship between interpersonal communication skills with the adjustment in the boarding school students. The results of data analysis showed r = 0.674 and p = 0.000 (p>0,01). Kata kunci: interpersonal communication skills, adjustment, boarding school students.en_US
