Abstract
Preliminary design of Phenyethylalcohol with capacity 10.000 ton/year
is plant to be built in Cilacap,Central Java in the area of land 18.625 m2. This
chemical plant will be operated for 330 day/year or 24 hours a day with 143
employees.
Raw material needed is Benzene 882.7228 Kg/hour, Ethylen Oxicide 497.9462
Kg/hour and Alumunium Cloride 993.8987 Kg/hour. The production process will
be operated at temperature 10°C, at pressure about of 1 atm using Bacth Reaktor
with yield 60 % . The utiliy consist of 20510.9914 kg/hour of cooling water
1020.8333 kg/hour of housing water; 1666.3056 kg/hour of steam; 166,5570
Lt/hour of Industrial Diesel Oil (IDO); 8 Lt/hour of fuel oil while the power of
electricity of about 154,95 Kwh provided by PLN. This chemical plant also use
generator set as reserve.
Economic analysis shows thats this chemical plant need to be covered by fixed
capital of about Rp. 55.296.909.120,-; working capital of about Rp
144.985.350.114,06. The profit before tax is Rp 40,021,537,067.52 while the
profit after tax is Rp 20,010,768,533.76. Percentage of return on investement
(ROI) before tax is 72.38 % while after tax is 36.19 %. Pay out time (POT) before
tax is 1,72 years while after tax is 2,17 years. The value of break even point
(BEP) is 42.17 % and shut down point (SDP) is 31.71 % with Discounted Cash
Flow Rate (DCFR) is 14.5 %. Based on the economic analysis, It is concluded
that plant design of Amyl Acetate with capacity 10.000 ton/years visible to be
built.
