    Abstract
The study aimed to examine the association of Instagram use and social anxiety, both directly and indirectly through social comparison. This study used correlational design that involves survey to 123 Instagram users (Male = 26.8%, Female = 73.2%, Mage =21, SDage = 1.34) actively post their contents on daily basis. All variable was measured through self report in which Instagram use was measured through its three dimensions: interaction, browsing and broadcasting. The results showed a significant relationship between interaction and social comparison in Instagram. However, the other hypotheses on the association between other dimensions of Instagram use and social anxiety as well as social comparison were not supported by the data. Nevertheless, through this study, we also found that the users‟ activities on Instagram are orthogonal, in which one activity (e.g., interaction) was negatively correlated with other activities (e.g., browsing and broadcasting).
