dc.description.abstractVerbal interaction is one type of classroom interaction. This study aims to find out the pattern of verbal classroom interaction that occurs in the teaching and learning process. This research is an observational study. The data were collected from a videotaped classroom in a senior high school in Yogyakarta. The participants were an English pre-service teacher and 24 students in English class. The study was conducted in senior high school in Yogyakarta. The findings of the research showed that the verbal interaction in the classroom is focused in two, they are: 1) interaction between teacher-students interaction, 2) students-students interaction. The result showed that the dominant pattern of verbal classroom interaction was teacher-student interaction.en_US
